Mr. Van Siclen's practice has primarily been as a trial attorney in the various litigation fields of practice including personal injury, product liability (especially aviation related), professional negligence, civil rights litigation and complex commercial and labor law.

He has been noted for representing a number of persons caught up in the now infamous Wenatchee Sex Ring Cases. Mr. Van Siclen represented three of the defendants in that case all of whom were acquitted. Those three individuals were the only defendants to have gained acquittals in the criminal cases filed against them. Mr. Van Siclen has been professionally active in the Seattle-King County Bar Association (serving on its Judicial Selection Committee), and is the past president of the South King County Bar Association. In addition to remaining professionally active in the bar associations, Mr. Van Siclen has also served his community by actively participating in local organizations.

Mr. Van Siclen has served as president of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, he was the state legal counsel for the Washington State Junior Chamber of Commerce and actively participated in the Auburn Kiwanis Club. He is a pilot holding ratings for both single and multi-engine piston aircraft with instrument ratings. He is an avid boater and fisherman.

Mr. Van Siclen is permitted to practice law in all courts in the state of Washington. He is admitted to practice law in the federal district in both its Western Division as well as its Eastern Division. He is also admitted to practice law in the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Van Siclen is the first Auburn, WA attorney to receive the "AV" rating in the Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory.
