Education
Janel received her Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law in 2006. While in law school, she served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Washington Law Review and Co-President of the Public Interest Law Association. She also participated in the Innocence Project Northwest Clinic, which assists prisoners who were wrongfully convicted. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences & Law and Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001.
Professional Associations
She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Solid Ground (formally the Fremont Public Association), an anti-poverty organization serving low-income people throughout King County.
