No BS, just the truth, even when I didn’t like what he told me. If you want someone to tell you what you want to hear, go somewhere else. If you want an aggressive, smart attorney who gives it to you straight, use Tyler Firkins.”

He’s a straight shooter who won’t waste your time but will cut to the heart of the matter so you can get on with your life. His knowledge of education law make him someone you will want on your side, should you find yourself in a battle against ‘the system.’”

- Sarah P. of Kent

“I was impressed with how much more prepared and polished Tyler was in court for me compared to the other attorneys.  It gave me a lot of confidence and I was happy with the results.”  (Car Accident Trial, January, 2011).

Victor J. Torres

Associate

vtorres@vansiclen.com

Primary Areas of Practice

Personal Injury, Employment Discrimination, Civil Rights

Attorney Details

Career Highlights

Victor is an outstanding communicator and trial attorney who works tirelessly to represent individuals who have been injured or harmed by others. This includes representing individuals in cases against the government and its agencies, corporations, an employer, or another third party.

Victor provides representation to individuals in jury trials including personal injury and employment cases. He has handled numerous arbitration hearings involving injury, employment, and commercial issues. He has significant experience in personal injury litigation including catastrophic injuries, toxic torts, sexual abuse, civil rights, products liability, motor vehicle accidents, and slip and falls. Additionally, Victor has substantial experience in employment litigation including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation. He also has considerable experience in commercial litigation representing individuals as well as businesses in Consumer Protection Act claims, trade secrets litigation, and contract disputes.

Personal Background

Victor was born in San Francisco, California, and raised in the Bay Area. From very early on, he had a passion for social justice and pursued a liberal arts education at the University of San Francisco. After moving to the Puget Sound area, he went to the Seattle University School of Law. He is an active community volunteer in the South King County area of Maple Valley where he resides with his wife and their four sons. In his personal time, Victor enjoys weight training, spending time and playing with his family, and the cinema experience at the movie theater. Victor has not forgotten his roots and is a life-long, die-hard San Francisco 49ers faithful.

Quotes from Clients:

“Victor has a heart of gold and the mind of a scientist.”

“My case was somewhat difficult to manage due to the length of time that had passed and the vast amount of materials to be reviewed but he overcame those hurdles and proved to be very hard working, knowledgeable in the subject area, thorough and well prepared while representing me. In fact, during the various depositions and other face to face meetings he proved to be much better prepared than the opposing counsel. He was very supportive, communicative, and helpful throughout the entire difficult process. In the end, he did a great job negotiating a good settlement from a difficult opponent.”

- Paul (employment discrimination, 2013)

“Victor Torres is professional, knowledgeable and always prepared. He is hard working, well respected, and compassionate. It was a pleasure to have worked with him. I highly recommend him.”

- Tuyen (employment discrimination, 2012)

“Mr. Torres was extremely helpful in reviewing, and negotiating on my behalf, an employment contract. His knowledge and experience prevented me from signing a contract that would have allowed the company to hold me personally financially accountable for failing to meet the contractual goals. I had missed this clause during my review and without Mr. Torres I could have signed a bad contract.”

- Ken (employment contract, 2011)

“My wife was involved in an automobile accident in which there was clear liability on the other party involved. Given that my wife was not at fault and my lack of experience in these matters, I thought this matter would be very straight forward and I couldn’t have been more wrong. After contacting Victor and having him review our case, he immediately laid out a course of action based upon his professional opinion. From that point forward, Victor did an excellent job of handling the case and insulating us from any of the unnecessary details. The accident was pretty traumatic for my wife and he was very compassionate and understanding with her throughout the whole process. In the end, he was able to get us the compensation we felt was deserved. I certainly hope we don’t have to go through this again, but having Victor in our corner was the best peace of mind we had. I will definitely recommend him to others.”
